AGE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Age
The minimum age for skydiving is 16 years of age.

Age 16-17
If a person is under 18 years of age, they must have their parent or legal guardian sign the BS Tandem Student Medical Declaration (Form 115A) and the BS Membership Agreement (Form 106).

The participant must bring some form of identification which shows their date of birth or proof of age.

Maximum age
There is no maximum age although persons over the age of 70 are required to contact to the Chief Instructor prior to booking. Please note, a Student Tandem Doctors Certificate (Form 115B) is required for anyone who is 70 or over.

HEALTH AND FITNESS

General Requirements
All tandem customers must review Student Tandem Medical Declaration (Form 115A) for medical requirements and eligibility for self declaration of fitness.

Having read Student Tandem Medical Declaration (Form 115A), if you are unable to sign the form due to medical conditions, injuries or anything listed you must bring a copy of the Student Tandem Doctors Certificate (Form 115B) signed and stamped by your doctor instead. Please note that The National Health Service does not provide this advice and you may be charged for it. You may also have to pay for any additional tests or referrals needed to clarify your risk.

Weight Restrictions
For safety reasons, strict weight restrictions have been put in place based on a risk assessment. Any person exceeding these weight limits will not be able to complete their tandem skydive. 14 stone (89kgs), is the maximum permitted weight. The Chief Instructor can authorise an increase up to 15 stone (95kg). This is generally for male participants only and is dependant on the individuals physical fitness, their age and with height/weight being taken into consideration. Any clarification on this must be directed to the Chief Instructor prior to initial arrival.

Medical Conditions
Unfortunately there are certain medical conditions may prevent you from taking part in a skydive. Please refer to the Student Tandem Doctors Certificate (Form 115B) for further details. If you have a medical condition or disability, please get in touch with us directly for an assessment of suitability. More information on skydiving for disabled people.

“I am 56 year old with mobility issues but I succeeded in the skydive because of the excellent support and care given to all of their clients. Lots of banter and fun but also very clear training and firm instructions. This made me feel safe. My instructor, Robert, spoke and encouraged me all the way up in the plane and all the way down. This was a magnificent experience and I would do it again in a heart beat. ”
